Two Week Checkup

This week Bergen had his two week checkup. He was a very good little boy while the doctor poked and prodded. We are happy to report Bergen is doing great. He weighs 7lbs. 13 3/4oz. and is 19 3/4 inches long. Both measurements fall just under the 25%...I laughed when the doctor told me this and said, "why are we not surprised?" The doctor asked how tall Travis and I are and then he said, "yup, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree." After the doctor finished his exam, he rubbed Bergen's head and said, "you're little but you sure got a lot of hair!" :) Here's some photos from today.

Just Some More Fun Photos

Call me crazy, but I think he changes just a little every day!
If he sleeps so much...how come I'm still tired? Oh yeah, probably because I do things like blog while he's sleeping instead of sleeping myself :)
It's a good thing he likes getting his hair washed!
For as much as he seems to enjoy it, I think he thinks he's at a spa :)

Family Time

This is my dad holding Bergen at the hospital.

My sister Helen and nephew Joshua meeting Bergen at the hospital.
It was so nice having them here for a while. Helen and Joshua were good about helping Bergen and I in the house while Travis and my dad worked on the roof. We even ventured out a couple of times, which I've decided is good to do every now and then!

After working on the roof, we all needed a good hearty meal from Babe's Chicken. Delicious!

New Roof

A big thank you to my dad for helping us (and by us I mean Travis since I did nothing to contribute to the massive project) replace our roof that was damaged in a hail storm. It was a very long 3 1/2 days for them! You might be thinking we are crazy for doing it ourselves...we now know we definitely are! But why pay someone else when you can do it yourself and keep the money?
Boys taking a little break from the hot sun!
Hurray! A finished roof!

The First Four Days

We are so excited to have our baby here! Labor and delivery went so much better than I was expecting. I don't want to do it again tomorrow, but it went smoothy and was overall a good experience. I was induced Monday morning, the IV starting at 6:30am. The doctor broke my water at 7:30am, I got an epidural at 9:30am (that was an experience...he had some trouble, tried several times and only succeeded after a half hour of trying. So worth it though!!). I was totally relaxed until I started pushing at 12:40pm, and he came at 1:17pm. Travis was a great support (not that I expected differently) and even got super brave and decided at the last second to cut the umbilical cord!

Bergen is such a good little boy! He sleeps and eats well and is thus far very content. We are soaking that all in, because you never know what tomorrow will bring :) Here's a few, ok ok, a lot more pictures...it's hard to pick just a few :)

Daddy and son together just hours after arrival.

What we both like to do, SLEEP!
And daddy too :)

Looks like we have a future cheerleader on our hands.

First car ride.
My sister and dad stopped in along their road trip from Virginia to San Antonio. They were here just a few hours, but will be back next week. This is my nephew Joshua checking out the new baby. Cute cousins!
He's so sweet!
Yup, still trying to take naps :)
Snuggling with Dad.

Happy Family!
Can't get enough of this kid!
Yes, he has a ton of hair! We've had some fun with it today :) What do you like, the wolverine look...?
Or how about styled like dad? It's a tough call :)

We sure love this little boy!
