Spring break week we got to go to a children's opera in Ft. Worth. It was cute, but I wondered if Bergen was enjoying it. He kept telling me he had to go potty, but I didn't want to leave since the show wasn't even an hour and I hated to miss out on what we paid to see. Plus I was trying to feed Owen at that moment. After the show people could go to the stage and meet the actors. Bergen was not at all interested, nor did he want his picture taken. After we took a bathroom break Bergen was much happier and told me on his own he liked the cat. Phew! He did get something out of it. He was also much more willing to get a picture in the theatre. Walking back to the car we went past the museum, which has a water fountain. Bergen asked if we could have a picnic there. All I had was a couple packages of fruit snacks. So I said sure and we ate the fruit snacks for a picnic. Then he got brave and wanted to touch the water. I'm not sure why I thought this would end any differently, but what started out as touching the water turning into running through the water. Since we were going straight home I decided it wasn't a big deal and just let him go for it. He was soaked to the bone but hearing him yell back to me, "I'm having fun! I'm having fun mom!" was worth it all! Once he was cold enough we finished walking to the car where I stripped off his wet clothes. He rode home nakies with Owen's blanket wrapped around him. He wondered why I didn't have other clothes for him, but I don't think he minded since he had had so much fun. Note to self: next time we are going to be in that area...bring extra clothes. Just in case :)

Children's Museum
We spent a Saturday morning at the Children's Museum. We had a gift card to the gift shop. It was really fun to let Bergen look all around the shop and pick out something to buy. He had lots of ideas but decided on a ballon helicopter and a really cute Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site matching game (that's his favorite book right now). Then we enjoyed the activities of the museum. What Bergen loved the most was making a robot out of old boxes, containers, bubble wrap...basically trash, but he learned about reusing items. It was such a fun day he, and Owen, were asleep in the car when we got home. Bergen napping is such a rare occurrence these days I had to take a picture.
Owen ONE Month Old
One month stats:
10lbs 10oz - 69%
(2lb 2 oz increase from his two week checkup)
22 1/4 inches long - 80%
Owen is such a snuggler! He loves loves loves to be curled up on your shoulder. That's also his favorite place to sleep. He does not like a binky and doesn't really like being tightly swaddled. A loosely wrapped blanket is good enough for him. He's very patient when it comes getting a diaper change or just having to wait a little while before getting to eat. He's a pretty consistent every 3 hour-ish eater, day and night. He likes being cuddled up in the swing, which has been great for letting me get a little more sleep sometimes. He's a super calm baby and I'm betting he will have a very mellow personality. He's a good little guy and we sure love him!
Fishing
Travis took Bergen out fishing in one of the ponds by our house one day. He loves it! He asks to go all the time. Thankfully it's an easy thing to do, grab the pole, the hot dogs for bait, and walk down the street. Since then they've gone quite a few times. Did I mention Bergen loves it? For as wild and crazy as Bergen often is, being outside with this kind of activity is a place he calms down and behaves so nicely. And as an added bonus, the fish in this pond are good biters so that makes it extra fun!
Family Visitors
We had about a month's worth of visitors who came to see Owen and help us out. Grandma Linton was the first to arrive. She was a great help that second week when I was the most tired and not feeling my best. She did lots of house work and kept Bergen busy by going on walks and feeding the ducks. She got a few quiet moments to hold Owen too, but I was apparently too tired to realize we didn't get any pictures of her here until after she had left :(
Then the following week Auntie Kel and Grandma came. They also did lots of chores and helping out with both boys. Auntie Kel entertained Bergen for hours and hours, energy levels were high from sunup to sundown! Running around and saying tag you're it, jumping on the trampoline, playing with trains and toys, and being a doggie - "stay doggie!" We mostly stayed home, but did take a few small outings. We met Travis for lunch at Hard Eight BBQ. Another day we went to Hobby Lobby and Sam Moon, where there was lots of bling seeing and leather smelling. And mom went with me to Owen's two week checkup. Grandma went home after two weeks and then Grandpa Bjarnson came for a long weekend. It was over his birthday so we went to Babe's to celebrate. Bergen was not wanting his picture taken! It was very windy that day, hence the crazy hair. Playing darts is always fun and a few people want their own guns now :) And finally after just over a month Kellene spent two full days and part of another at the airport trying to get on a flight home. I don't think standby is her favorite way to travel after that.

February In A Nutshell
February flew by in a flash. We had company pretty much the entire month (later post on that), but did get to enjoy being a family of four hanging out mostly at home.
Owen got to take his first of many baths in the big tub. He thought it was alright.
I was trying to take a picture of Owen on the couch, and this sweet, full of way too much energy, face popped into the frame.
Bergen thought this Costco container for apples made a great ball holder. Very resourceful!
One night Bergen woke up before I had gotten to bed. He sat by me on the couch for a few minutes before I told him to go lay on our bed. It wasn't more than a couple of minutes before I got back to my room and this is what I found. He was already out. He's definitely not so little anymore.
Bergen occasionally likes to hold Owen, but literally only for about 15 seconds.
Doin' what we do best...BAKING!
One day Owen was sleeping in the swing. When we started to cry Bergen ran into the room, then he came back out and said he had gotten baby brother out. Umm what?! Sure enough Owen was nicely on the floor ready for a diaper change. Curious how that looked I later let Bergen get Owen out of his car seat while I was right next to him, just in case. It actually wasn't as scary as I thought maybe it could've been. I love how Owen is looking up at him.
Oh yeah, he's thinking about giving Owen a ride in that shopping cart :)
Owen's home from the hospital outfit is getting pretty snug :) He's growing so fast. Just stop that now!
